Achieving Symbios for Better Perfomance

The design in nature of a herd, or a flock, or a school of fish is truly ingenious. They move together for safety and efficiency. They work to protect their young from predators. The stronger members remain alert on the outside to dangers, and they queue the herd to run for safety when necessary. If a member fails in their duty, this symbiotic unit suffers.

A similar symbiotic structure exists among groups of humans that work together. Unfortunately, due to many human psychological complexities that arise in our societies, certain subgroups and individuals develop competing agendas with other subgroups and individuals. We have all felt the frustration of this. It keeps us from making progress. It prevents us from reaching the best solutions. Is there a way out of this trap?

Symbios Solutions says yes - most definitely. We train groups and individuals to experience the symbios that we see in herds and flocks and such. Amazingly, this is accomplished without asking anyone to sacrifice their values or their unique contributions. How is this best achieved?

In order to truly see lasting change in the culture, the leader(s) of the herd must embrace and support this symbios first. With few exceptions, a group takes on the personality of its leaders. If leaders value achieving better solutions in less time and are willing to make the necessary changes to experience better solutions in less time, their group will think better together and their business will reap the benefits.
